Is your thumb so green that you find yourself with a dearth of fruits and
vegetables during the summer season? Would you like to join a CSA and
enjoy a bushel basket of produce each week but don’t know how to keep
it? Wouldn’t it be nice to eat your own home grown and canned tomatoes
all winter? Join Family & Consumer Sciences Agents, Nelda Moore and
Chris Rivera, from the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service for a fun
and informative presentation on home canning and food preservation.
Come and learn the basics of canning: both hot water bath and pressure
cooker, just like Grandma used to do. See a demonstration of hot water
bath canning and learn how easy it is to freeze and dry fruits and
vegetables.

Presented by the University of Kentucky Alumni Association, Greater
Louisville Club and the St. Matthews Farmers Market with support from
Central Bank
